You’re walking down the street and you see some old friends or work colleagues that you haven’t seen for a long time.

What do you say?

Here are 6 great English expressions to impress them with your great English.

To help you sound even better, I have included links to one of my favourite websites, Play Phraseme where you can listen to the expressions in real films.

So let’s get started:

1. I haven’t seen you in so long.

Listen: I haven’t seen you in so long

2. I haven’t seen you guys in a while (to more than one person, informal)

Listen: I haven’t seen you guys in a while

3. I haven’t seen you since I don’t know when.

Listen:I haven’t seen you since I don’t know when.

4. I haven’t seen you in forever.

Listen: I haven’t seen you in forever.

5. It’s been ages!

Listen: It’s been ages!

6. Long time no see!

Listen: Long time no see!

My next recommendation would be try recording yourself to see how you sound.

Listen closely to your intonation in general, not just the individual words.

 Happy practising!
